New Delhi, 04 Wednesday March 2009: Cashing in on the success of A R Rahman’s ‘Jai Ho’ number at the Oscars, the Congress has decided to use the song exclusively during its election campaign.
A senior party leader said Congress has bought the rights of the song and the tune from T-Series music company for use in the elections.
The film, which showcases life in Mumbai slums and how one of the dwellers becomes a millionaire, has ‘Jai Ho’ as its theme song. Music composer A R Rahman, got the first ever Oscar for a Hindi number for the song.
Congress has roped in Crayons for its advertising along with JWT in an ambitious campaign that seeks to project a positive image of development and progress under the UPA regime.
Incidentally, the party had used hit number ‘Chak de’ from the Shah Rukh Khan film of the same name during the Gujarat Assembly polls.
