Thiruvananthapuram, Friday 3 July 2009: Thiruvananthapuram corporation authorities today ordered an enquiry into the incident of worms and parasites detected in a packet of branded baby food bought by a family in Pappanamcode in the other day.

GR Anil, Corporation councilor and heath standing committee chairman told ACV News that the health department has been asked to conduct a thorough probe into the incident.

According to reports the baby food, a product of an international brand was purchased from a margin free shop in Pappamancode. According to parents, the child exhibited symptoms of food poisoning and was immedietly admitted to nearby hospital. The family told ACV News that they were planning to approach the Health Department for an investigation in to this issue.

The child’s father pointed out that the baby food packet was manufactured in May 2009 and was well with in usable period.
