Kochi, Friday, June 10, 2011: The Kerala High Court on Friday framed contempt of court charges against CPI(M) leader M.V. Jayarajan for his remarks against High Court judges. A Division Bench, consisting of Justice A K Basheer and Justice P Q Barkat Ali handed over the chargesheet to Jayarajan.
Denying the charges registered, Jayarajan said the court denied permission to clarify his stand. Every citizen has the right to criticise court verdicts, but Jayarajan tried to criticise them on a public place. The Court will consider the case on July 20th.
Jayarajan, at a public meeting, made unparliamentary remarks against the judges after a High court ruling banned roadside meetings by political parties.
