Bangalore, Thursday 02 September 2010: The Bangalore Metropolitan magistrate court would today take up the bail plea of PDP Chairman Abdul Nazar Maudani. The prosecution has been directed to submit counter arguments on the bail plea. The judicial custody of Maudani ends on 14th of this month.

The Bangalore police had quizzed Maudani, while in custody and claimed to have collected vital clues regarding the involvement of the PDP chairman in the case.

The Bangalore Fast track Sessions Court on August 30 deferred the hearing of the PDP Chairman Abdul Nazar Maudani’s anticipatory bail plea regarding his involvement in the Bangalore blast case, to September 2nd. Maudani had submitted the bail plea in front of the Fast track Judge Sreekanth Vadavatty. The court had earlier provided two days for the prosecution to file counter arguments.

The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate while remanding Maudani to judicial custody had instructed the Bangalore police to provide medical treatment Maudani, who is suffering from ailment. The Court had also instructed the police to submit medical reports regarding the same.

Counsel for the PDP chairman had earlier accused that the police did not follow the Court’s directives regarding medical treatment.

Maudani has informed in the plea that the case registered against him by the Bangalore police was totally fabricated and that he was innocent in the serial blast case.

The Bangalore Metropolitan Magistrate Court had sent Abdul Nazar Maudani, the 31st accused in the Bangalore serial blast case, to judicial custody till September 7th. Maudani was produced before the Court at 5.15 pm August 26.

The Court had also instructed the Karanataka police to provide proper medical aid for Maudani. Maudani was produced before the Court since his nine-day long remand period would expire on August 27.
