Thiruvananthapuram, Friday, July 30, 2010: Kerala State Home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today affirmed that the Courts must make judgments only after examining the facts. Minister added that the High Court must have sought the opinion of the State police before passing such judgments.
Minister Kodiyeri was speaking about the High Court’s observation that the State government was under the mafia control. HC Justice Sirijagan said that in such kind of situation, only politicians, mafias and rich people could survive in this society.
Justice said that the mafias are powerful enough that they could always escape the Courts’ verdict with the help of money. He added that if the State police was not able to thwart the breach of law then the Court has the authority to order for Military assistance.
