Kochi, Saturday 13 March 2010: Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac has said that since it is vital for the State to have more courts, the government will prepare a plan on how many new courts will be set up in the next five years.
Dr. Isaac said that however, lack of funds for construction of buildings was a constraint. Taxes would serve only to pay salaries and loans were necessary to take up construction work. However, a cap on taking loans was hindering all such efforts.
Still, the Government had accorded permission for 14 new court buildings in the present fiscal and hoped to continue this in the coming fiscal as well, he said.
