Wayanad, Saturday, February 13, 2010: Following the actions of its big brother and coalition partner CPM in Wayanad, more lands of Harrisons Malayalam Plantations Limited in Meppadi were encroached by CPI-ML men today morning.

The encroachers hoisted flags and erected temporary sheds here. The land was earlier occupied by workers of the estate.

CPI has informed that more encroachers would arrive here soon and the estate workers won’t be allowed to enter the land.

It has to be noted that these encroachments have taken place even after CPI assistant secretary KE Ismail strongly opposing land grabbing in Munnar

Meanwhile, the estate management has come out openly against the encroachments.
