Alappuzha, Thursday, January 08, 2009: Over a lakh activists are expected to participate in the Alappuzha district rally that will take place today at Bhatathiripuraidam near Alappuzha.

West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan, CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan and politburo member Brinda Karat will participate in the rally to be held at Alappuzha on Thursday after the politburo meeting.

The meeting will call for united efforts by its workers to combat the upcoming electoral battle in the State.
