Kozhikode, Tuesday, January 11, 2011: A tense situation is prevailing in Kayanna, after a clash broke out between the CPM and BJP activists in Kozhikode district today. In the scuffle that followed a BJP panchayat committee office functioning in Kayanna town was set on fire, by a group of miscreants.

As a protest against this incident the BJP has called for a hartal in Kayanna and near by places. A huge battalion of police have been deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incidents during the hartal.
