CPM ministers’ opposition against Kerala CM

Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday 10 June 2009: In a dramatic move against VS Achuthanandan, CPM Ministers informed the party state leadership about their disagreement with Chief Minister. The ministers M Vijayakumar, S Sarma, PK Gurudasan were excluded from the rebel group against Kerala Chief Minister.

informed the party leadership that he could not be a part of the state ministry and minister Thomas Isaac met party national leader to discuss about the issues regarding the state.

The issues came after the press conference of Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan regarding the cabinet opinion on the Governor’s decision in the prosecution of party state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan in the SNC Lavalin case. In the midst of all high voltage political drama in the State, much to the surprise of other comrades Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan has once again sung a different tone that of his party, after the routine Cabinet meeting speaking to scribes VS Achuthanandan backed the Kerala Governor’s decision to prosecute CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan.

He said, the decision of Governor should not be given wrong interpretations and citing similar decisions made by Governor’s in other State Chief Minister said, its not a surprising decision.

VS Achuthanandan added that, he will not backtrack from his earlier decision.

Refusing to reiterate and Vaikom Vishwan’s allegations that the Governor has violated constitutional responsibilities, Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan said, close study is needed on this matter.

Yesterday, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and Vaikom Vishwan had accused the Governor of throttling the Government.
