Thiruvananthapuram, Tuesday, February 7, 2012: The CPM state meet began with a colourful function when VS Achuthanandhan hoisted the flag at the AKG Hall to inaugurate the function. General secretary Prakash Karat inaugurated the delegate session.

The two Communist parties in the state organized the state meets on the same day and when the CPM meet begins in Thiruvananthapuram, the CPI meet would be inaugurated in Kollam. Both parties are meeting prior to the party Congress.

Former state secretary of CPI Veliyam Bharghavan will inaugurate the CPI state meet in Kollam. Representing 3,70,818 party members, 479 representatives and 558 members, including state committee members and 10 observers, are attending the meet.
