
Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday 26 November 2008: Credit and semester systems would be introduced for degree courses from the next academic year, Education Minister M.A. Baby said.
The university examination system would be computerised for timely conduct of examinations and publication of results. It had been decided to form clusters for colleges in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode.
The government would take the managements into confidence to allay their apprehensions before introducing the system, he added.
As many as 240 grama panchayats in the State do not have facilities for Plus Two education.The government would start Plus Two courses in such panchayats in a phased manner.
In order to help SSLC students familiarise with the single-window admission system for Plus Two courses, it had been included in their IT studies. All details, including grades of those who got admission to various combinations, had been posted on the website.
As many as 9,453 Plus Two seats remained vacant; but compared to the previous year, more SC/ST and Backward Class students got admission for various courses this year, Baby said.
