Earlier report
The Kerala High Court on Monday asked the state to collect tax in advance from lotteries of other states functioning in the state.
The court directed this while considering the plea filed by Megha Distributors against the lotteries seized by the sales tax department at the Walayar check post on charge of tax evasion.
The court directed to inform the state the details regarding the draw of lotteries conducted by other states. Not only that the draw should be conducted after following the rules. The agencies have the right to sell the lotteries of other states. Meantime, this is not liable for lotteries functioning illegally.
