Pathanamthitta, Wednesday 24 Dec 2008: Kallooppara has become the fourth Assembly constituency in the State to achieve total electrification with Electricity Minister A.K. Balan making the formal announcement at a function at Mallappally.
Irinjalakuda, Mankada and Alappuzha are the other three Assembly segments that have achieved the target.

Mr. Balan said reaching sustainable electricity at an affordable tariff to every household was the policy of the LDF government.
He said the State had to generate not less than 3000 MW in the next 10 years to meet the power requirements. He said many projects proposed by the Kerala State Electricity Board were facing opposition from environmentalists.
He called for co-operation from all quarters for the government’s development initiatives.
