Thiruvananthapuram, Sunday, February 14, 2010: An elephant named Abhimanyu belonging to the Poovachal ran amok on Sunday morning, triggering panic. The elephant ran from the Kattakkada around 11 a.m. and destroyed the walls of a few houses.

The animal ran a few kilometers and was brought under control by mahouts around 1 p.m. Babu, a mahout, sustained injuries and has been admitted to a private hospital.
