Thrissur, Wednesday 26 May 2010: Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that the better facilities at workplaces would improve the efficiency of police personnel.

“Despite all the reforms in the Police Department, people still complain that police personnel are foul-mouthed. Police stations should not put off people. When they deal with the common man, police personnel should behave properly,” the Home Minister said.

Minister added that a welfare fund will be set up for members of the police, excise, forest and Fire and Rescue Services departments who are injured while on duty. Home Minister said that the Bill envisaged comprehensive reform of police rules.
