Flight attendant lands with suspected H1N1 flu

Kochi, Monday, May 25, 2009: According to reports a flight attendant was quarantined for suspected H1N1 influenza, at Nedumbassery airport today informed airport officials.

Report says that the flight attendant who is of Egyptian nationality had arrived at the airport in the Abu Dhabi flight. She is at present admitted to Perumbavoor taluk hospital.

State govt had instilled screening of passengers and precautionary methods at all international airports including arriving from overseas destinations, to check possible outbreak of Swine Flu after the WHO gave it’s warning.

A 23 month old baby in Texas, southern US was the first to die from swine flu outside of Mexico.

On a day that Germany became the eighth country to confirm cases of the spreading epidemic.

Swine flu has now reached the UK, Canada, Spain, New Zealand and Israel.

The country with the most deaths recorded was Mexico.
