Kochi, Saturday, December 05, 2009: Blaming the UPA government for the spiraling price rise in the state, finance minister Thomas Isaac said, Supplyco and Consumerfed would be given additional fund to combat the price rise.
Mass agitation would be organized with the participation of people against central government, minister said. He pointed out that the public distribution system, which should come in handy for controlling the price hike is almost nearly stopped. Dr Issac accused that the centre government has failed miserably in foreseeing the price hike and taking precautionary measures.
Thomas Isaac added that, the government has received the report of the Ravindranath committee which was instituted to study the distribution of funds to universities; the recommendations made by the committee would be implemented time –bound.
