Kochi, Wednesday, September 01, 2010: The price of gold shoots up, touching record level today. The price of one sovereign gold stands at 14,280 rupees today.

Price of one gram gold stands at 1785 rupees, with a hike of ten rupees coming into effect today. The recent hike is seen as a reflection of the surging price in international market. Gold is seen as a safe investment and added to this comes the reduction of the value of rupee in comparison with the dollar.
