Thiruvananthapuram, Thursday 27 May 2010: The price of gold shoots up, touching record level today. The price of one sovereign gold stands at 13,960 rupees today.

The price of gold per gram is Rs 1745. Gold is seen as a safe investment by many considering the setbacks in the share market, which has contributed hugely to the high demand of the yellow metal.
