Palakkad, Saturday, January 23, 2010: Three bogies of a goods train carrying cement from Tamil Nadu got separated from the engine near Walayar in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

The bogies derailed while it was been shifted to yard. The incident occurred near a bridge adjacent to the station. Following this rail traffic between Walayar and Madhurai B Line was disrupted.
