Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday, November 16, 2011: The Cabinet on Wednesday decided to take immediate steps to acquire land for the proposed electronic hardware park at Ambaloor near Ernakulam.
Speaking to the mediapersons in Thiruvananthapuram, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that Ernakulam collector would be asked to acquire 334 acres for the park. The park would be under the Information Technology Department.
The Chief Minister said that the Cabinet had approved the proposal to appoint Advisor to the Prime Minister of India, Sam Pitroda, as Chief Mentor for Kerala’s Development in an honorary capacity. Discussions had been going on with Pitroda in this respect and Pitroda had agreed to be the Mentor during talks he had with him in Mumbai on Sunday. Pitroda would visit Kerala shortly for discussions with policy makers.
