Thiruvananthapuram, Thursday, December 29, 2011: The Kerala Government has decided to honour music legend KJ Yesudas who has completed 50 years as a playback singer.

A lifetime achievement award would be presented to him considering his illustrious career, work for communal amity and social service, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told reporters after a Cabinet meeting.

The Culture department would present the award, carrying a purse of Rs 1.5 lakh, memento and citation, he said.
