Thiruvananthapuram, Friday, July 30, 2010: The Kerala State Finance minister T.M Thomas Issac today told that video surveillance would be installed in 10 check posts across the State. Speaking at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram today, minister informed that the government was planning to set up video monitoring facilities in the check posts like Amaravila, Valayar, Manjeswaram, Aryanad, Meenakshipuram, Gopalapuram, Muthanga, Kumaly, Naduppunni.
Minister added that on experimental basis this video system would be launched in Amaravila check post primarily. Minister Thomas Isaac had earlier informed the Assembly that surveillance cameras would be placed at check posts in the State.
Minister also affirmed that a fund worth Rs. 1 crore would be allotted as secret fund for the Revenue department to suppress tax evasions.He also said that an award would be constituted for the person who proves ideal in tax payments.
