Thiruvananthapuram, Tuesday 08 December 2009: Contradicting the home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s statement that I G Tomin Tachankari had gone to Bangalore to coordinate the investigation team; Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said that it’s not the Government, which sent IG to Bangalore.
VS, who came to attend a function at the Mascot Hotel, said this when asked about the UDF allegation that the IG was sent to Bangalore to save Nazeer. When asked on whose directive was the IG sent, VS asked the reporters to find out that.
Meantime, Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan at a press conference said that Thachankari went to Bangalore with the consent of the home department. He said the decision was not taken by the cabinet.
As the chief minister and home minister have aired their opinion differently, it may lead to a new controversy.
