Kochi, Tuesday, December 14, 2010: Following the report given by the Pro vice chancellor, a three member panel has been organized to probe on the incident connected with the disfigurement of grass sculpture in CUSAT.
The three member panel comprises of Rajan Varghese, Sindhu Joy and Chakrapani.

‘Breasts’ of a grass sculpture, depicting a nude woman, at the Cochin University campus were removed, following complaints by some female employees who found it ‘vulgar’, triggering protests from cultural circles in Kerala.
Artists, academics and writers had issued statements dubbing the act as an infringement of creative freedom and aesthetic sense.
The breasts of the grass artwork Sagara Kanyaka, a highlight of the garden in front of the Cochin University of Science and Technology’s administrative office for several years, were pruned recently after some women employees complained against its presence, terming the work as ‘vulgar’.
With the issue surfacing, a group of leading artists, academics and writers came out against the “disfigurement” of the structure, which they said came as humiliation of the liberal cultural traditions of Kerala.
The protest was led by Chairman of Kerala Lalitha Kala Academy C N Karunakaran and eminent artist M V Devan.
