New Delhi, Saturday, January 24, 2009: Veteran Congress leader K Karunakaran’s daughter Padmja Venugopal is meeting Congress High Command Sonia Gandhi to discuss over Rajya Sabha seat.

According to sources, Padmaja who is in New Delhi has come as an emissary of her father. Padmaja is likely to demand the Rajya Sabha seat for her father for which already has many contenders from Congress as well as Kerala Congress (M) group.

It is also learned that Padmaja is desperately seeking a seat for herself from Chalakkudy.

Meanwhile, the octogenarian leader said, he had not thought about contesting for th Rajya Sabha seat and is not aware of Padmaja’s visit to New Delhi.
