Munnar, Wednesday, January 27, 2010: A dawn to dusk hartal is been observed in Munnar today by the High range Janakeeya Samrakshana Samithy, formed by local traders and those affected by the anti-encroachment drive.

According to the agitators, in the name of High Court verdict the Revenue and KSEB officials are harassing those who had been living in the area for the past many generations and were now being driven away in the name of the anti-encroachment campaign.

The government must change its biased attitude towards the land issue here the agitators demanded.
