Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday 10 June 2009: Two persons were arrested by the Vanchiyoor police here on Tuesday following a raid on a private institution near the General Hospital junction.
Radhakrishnan, 46, and Rajesh, 35, were arrested for financial fraud, the police said.
According to the police, Radhakrishnan and Rajesh collected money from job-seekers promising recruitment in their private institution, named the Kerala State Grameena Agricultural Development Centre.
The duo is suspected to have collected Rs.5,500 each from nearly 200 persons.
Following a complaint of cheating, the police raided the centre and confiscated around Rs.10,000 in cash and several documents of financial transactions.
The police said that Radhakrishnan, a native of Veliyam, and Rajesh, from Mannanthala, would be produced before the court today.
