Kozhikode, Tuesday, March 16, 2010: All party meet would be held at Kozhikode tomorrow, regarding the hidden camera in ladies toilet in a multicuisine restaurant. The District Collector would preside over the meeting. Representatives from various parties would take part in the meeting. The decision regarding the reopening of the hotel would be taken after the meeting.
The accused, Akhil Jose of Kozhikode hidden camera case was remanded for two weeks by the Kozhikode Chief Judicial Majistrate Court on March 13..The police had arrested the youth on the charge of placing a hidden video camera in the ladies’ toilet of the restaurant. The accused, Akhil Jose, 23, an employee of the restaurant on the Mavoor Road, was charged under various Sections of the Information Technology Act.
Visitors to the restaurant had detected the hidden video camera in the toilet. They raised an alarm and informed the police. Meanwhile, several political parties and its feeder organizations took out a march to the hotel in protest against the incident. The functioning of the hotel had been stopped on this regard .
Activists of the Youth Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Democratic Youth Federation of India took out separate marches to the hotel in the evening. Protestors threw stones at the hotel. Cases had been registered in connection with the incident, last Friday.
