Kollam, Friday 09 Jan 2009: Chief Justice of India Justice K.G. Balakrishnan will present the V. Gangadharan Memorial Trust Award for the ‘Best modern industrialist’ from Kerala to B. Ravi Pillai at a function to be held at the Swaralaya Open Air Auditorium here on Saturday.
The function will be followed by a fusion music programme by the World Philharmonic Orchestra led by violin maestro L. Subramaniyam and playback singer Kavita Krishnamoorthy. The orchestra comprises 55 musicians.
The programme is being organised by the Kadappakada Sports Club and Swaralaya.
Club president Thengamam Balakrishnan and secretary R.S. Babu told reporters that the award function will be addressed by Ministers P.K. Gurudasan and C. Divakaran.
The music programme is part of the “India One” festival organised by the club to spread awareness against terrorism. Between January 10 and January 31, six such programmes will be held at the venue.
The finale will be led by K.J. Yesudas. At the function Mr. Yesudas will present the KPAC Sulochana Memorial Award to playback singer P. Suseela.
