Kozhikode, Thursday 03 June 2010: The state council of the Indian National League (INL) is meeting today at Thalassery to decide on the future relations with LDF and the most likely decision is to snap all ties with LDF.
INL is now aiming for a tactical alliance with UDF in the upcoming local body elections. Party sources hinted that an open proclamation on supporting UDF would be declared today. Differences of opinion were ruling the INL over supporting LDF, with a majority demanding crossing over to the UDF camp. Talks regarding this have already went miles in the correct direction.
The altitude of CPM remains as the main hurdle before INL for an LDF entry. Even after extending background support for the ruling alliance, the door of LDF still remains closed for INL. The recent line of thought expressed by CPM adds to the woes of INL and strengthen the stand of anti-LDF campaigners of the party.
