Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday 22 Oct 2008: Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said that the Central Government-initiated insurance project `Aam Admi Bhima Yojna’ for landless families will be implemented in the state.
The insurance project that was started with joint participation of the central and state governments aim to ensure social security for the landless and benefit around six lakh families in the state. The project will be implemented through LIC. If a member of the project dies, family will get Rs 30,000 and for death due to accidents, they will get Rs 75,000.
Help will also be extended to all those injured in accidents. The kids of members will get Rs 100 as scholarship with premium waived, he said. The Chief Minister also congratulated the scientists who were behind the moon mission on behalf of the state government.
He also said that the government will act as guarantor to LIC for KSRTC to buy 1000 buses.
