Chennai, Sunday 21 March 2010: Rendezvous Sports Limitted member Vivek Venugopal Sunday said that it won the bid thanks to the efforts put in by Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor.

Rendezvous which won an IPL franchisee will have its base in Kochi. Vivek said that basing in Kochi will provide ample opportunitites for the cricketers from the state to showcase their talents.
