Thiruvananthapuram, Monday 24 May 2010: Stepping up the attack on Jamaat-e-Islami, Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today termed the division as a religious fundamentalist unit.

Speaking to reporters here, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan pointed out that the preceding actions of Jamaat proves this beyond any doubt. Asked if the state government would begin act against Jamaat, the Home Minister replied that Jamaat-ee-Islami is a national organization and it is for the central government to think in these lines.

Home Minister alleged that Jammat carries different face in different regions. “ They are not the same everywhere. Their performance in Kerala is entirely different from that in J&K.
