Thiruvananthapuram, Friday 31 July 2009: The mortal remains of gunner Ratheev Ravindran (27) who was killed in a rocket attack at Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday was brought to Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday night.

An Indian airlines flight carrying the body landed at the Thiruvananthapuram Airport about 10pm. Union minister for overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi and Kerala Food Minister C. Divakaran were present to receive the body at the airport the body was later transferred to the Military Hospital Pangode.

At 10 am, on Friday morning, the armed forces will pay their last respects at a function to be held at the MT Park of the 16 Madras regiment at Pangode. After that, the body of the jawan will be taken to his native place at Prayar South, Ochira Ratheev was one of three Indian personnel killed in a rocket firing.
