Pathanamthitta, Monday, January 18, 2010: The ritualistic Neyyabhishekom during the two-month-long annual Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrim season at Lord Ayyappa Temple at Sabarimala came to a close with the auspicious Kalabhabhishekom ritual on Monday.

Hundreds of Ayyappa devotees thronged the holy hillock to witness the ritual and worship the presiding deity on Monday.
The temple tantri, Kandararu Maheswararu, assisted by melsanthi, G. Vishnu Namboodiri, performed the Kalabhapuja at the Namaskara Mandapam. The Brahmakalasom was taken out in a ceremonial procession to the sanctum sanctorum, with the accompaniments of the sacred Marappani and other traditional temple percussion, later.

The ceremonial procession (Ezhunnellathu) from Malikappuram to Sannidhanam too came to a close following the customary procession to Saramkuthi on the trekking path on Monday.
