Kochi, Thursday, November 19, 2009: The key suspect who was arrested in connection with setting ablaze a bus belonging to the Tamil Nadu Transport Corporation at Kalamassery on September 9, 2005 would be produced before the Aluva Judicial Magistrate today.

Kannur, Neerchal native Nawaz was arrested by police team led by Thrikkakara assistant commissioner PM Varghese three days back.

Police zeroed in Nawaz after information it gathered interrogating Majeed Parambayi, a former PDP secretary. Nawaz was allegedly working in close association with Thadiyantavide Nazir, who is wanted on several terror charges and has been absconding for long. Nawaz has also reportedly traveled with Nazir to Middle East countries in 2003.

Police suspect that, Nawaz was the main source who had supplied money through havala transactions in Kerala to carryout terror related activities.

It is also reported that, it was Nazir who had funded money for Kalamassery bus torching and terror recruitments.
