Karunakaran calls organizational polls a farce   Karunakaran

Thiruvannathapuram, Saturday, 03 July 2010: Senior Congress leader K Karunakaram came out heavily for the second time against the ‘organizational polls’ in Congress. In a press meet called at his house, Karunakaran said that the polls were necessary for strengthening the organization, but presently the attempt for attaining supremacy is taking place.

The leader slammed the polls by calling it ‘farce’ , saying that such an election had never taken place in the history of Congress. The result of such polls could never be accepted and there were only some talks going on in the name of consensus. Expressing his discontent, the veteran leader said polls must be conducted impartially and constitutionally.

Karunakaran asserted that Ramesh Chennithala and Oommen Chanday visit him often in his house, for deceiving the public. Though complaint has been given to Sonia Gandhi there was no solution yet but haven’t lost confidence over High command.

He said one more time he would meet the Central leadership and then only would decide about future steps. When asked whether the KPCC leadership misguided him on polls, he corrected, `not misguided, but cheated’.
