Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday, January 27, 2010: Batting for his son’s smooth entry into Congress, senior Congress leader K Karunakaran appealed to the KPCC executive committee that a decision regarding this may be forwarded to Congress high command.
Karunakaran said, it would not be appropriate for the KPCC to take a decision regarding the re entry of Muralidharan since organisational election has been declared. Karunakaran also appealed the support of all KPCC members. Soon after his speech Karunakaran left for home.
Ramesh Chennithala in his inaugural address said, the meeting has been convened on the basis of the letter send by Karunakaran.
Karunakaran had written to Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Ramesh Chennithala asking him to convene a meeting of the party executive to discuss his son K. Muraleedharan’s entry into the party.
Earlier, Karunkaran had sent a letter from his hospital bed on the day the executive committee met last month with a similar demand. The executive had then authorised the KPCC president to hold discussions with Karunakaran.
Prior to meeting Union Minister of States for Consumer Affairs KV Thomas held talks with K Karunakaran.
