Thiruvananthapuram, Friday, 14 May 2010: There are reports that the Karunakaran supporters would stand by Oommen Chandy in the upcoming Congress- Youth Congress organisational polls. They are likely to continue this agreement with A group, up to Assembly elections, says the report.

The report says, Padmaja faction has already assessed it the detachment with other groups the reason for the downfall of the party in KSU elections. Group level meeting held under the leadership of Padmaja have forged a pact to stand by Oommen Chandy.

Karunakaran on Thursday had lodged a complaint to the Central party leadership about the manner in which organisational polls are being held in Kerala. In his letter to AICC General Secretary Mohsina Kidwai, in charge of the state unit, the 92-year-old leader had said that the polls were not being held in a “transparent and democratic manner”, sources close to him had said.
