Kasaragod Police-League clashes: 2 BJP workers arrested

Kasaragod, Sunday 22 November 2009: two BJP activists in connection with the murder of a League worker Mohammed Askar during the Police –League violence here last Sunday evening whose body was recovered with stab wounds from the trouble spot. Karanthakadu Ramesan and Satheesan, both BJP workers were arrested today evening.

The police sources had earlier hinted that more arrests would follow as the police had registered case against 500 men and had begun a massive crack down for those who were involved in the violence.

A Muslim League worker had died and another workers body was found with stab wounds in the police firing during a reception organised by the Muslim League to its leaders in the town on November 15.

Earlier the police sleuths interrogated former Kasaragod SP Ramdas Pothen, and took custody of the pistol that was used to fire.
