Kochi, Thursday, February 09, 2012: The trial in the sensational Kashmir recruitment case has begun before the National Investigation Agency (NIA) special Court here on Thursday. This is the second case in the State probed by the NIA after the Kozhikode twin blast case.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had chargesheeted as many as 18 accused in the Kashmir recruitment case on charges of waging a war against the nation. The accused include Wali alias Abu Rehan, a Pakistani national, and T. Nazeer, Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) operative.
Five youths from the State had been sent to Jammu and Kashmir for training for jihad by the LeT. Four of them were killed in an encounter with the Indian security forces on the border.
