Thrissur, Saturday, January 15, 2011: The Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Council (KCBC) today condoled the death of Sabarimala pilgrims in a stampede at Pullumedu in Kerala’s Idukki district. Arch Bishop Mar Andrews Thazhath said that he was deeply shocked at the tragic accident.

In a condolence message, Arch Bishop Mar Andrews Thazhath said, “I am deeply shocked and saddened at the tragic accident at Pulmedu in Idukki district in which several Ayyappa devotees returning from Sabarimala lost their precious lives. I share the profound grief of the bereaved families and pray for them.”
