Kozhikode, Tuesday, January 10, 2012 : Excise and Ports Minister K Babu had said that the Kerala government has sought a Rs 10 crore Central aid for development of six ports in the state.

The Minister said that the project report for the ambitious project had been submitted to the Centre for approval.

He said that Infrastructre Kerala Ltd (INKEL) has been entrusted with development of Beypore port in the district, he said adding a Rs 2.1 crore project has been submitted to the National Fisheries Authorities for warf and parking area development.

He said the Bepore Port Development Committee would sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Lakshadweep Development Authority for goods movement by sea on Janaury 12. The MoU was being signed as part of the first phase development of the Bepore Port, he added.
