Thiruvananthapuram, Friday, September 03, 2010:The Kerala Administrative Tribunal for dealing with the service complaints of government employees started functioning here at Vanchiyoor today. The former High Court Judge K.Balakrishnan Nair assumed charge as its Chairman, this morning.

The function was attended by Law Minister M.Vijayakumar, Upa- Lokayukta Jus.K.K Dineshan , Advocate General C.P Sudhakar Prasad attended the function.

The Central gazette notification setting up the tribunal had been issued on August 25. Service cases pending at the High Court would be transferred to the tribunal which has a single bench and a division bench. The formation of the tribunal is expected to reduce the pendency and expenses incurred by the government for conducting the cases at the High Court.
