Kerala urges Centre to ensure help to Keralites in UK  

Thiruvananthapuram, Friday, August 12, 2011: Kerala today urged the Centre to direct the in London to extend emergency help to Keralites affected by riots in London.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy made this request in letters to Foreign Minister S M Krishna and Overseas Indians Affairs Minister Vayalr Ravi, an official press release said.

Chandy wanted Keralites caught in the riots to be extended medical aid and other emergency support required.

He also wanted the Indian mission in the UK to make arrangements for giving duplicate passports to those who had lost their passports and other documents during the violence.
