Thiruvananthapuram, Saturday, October 24, 2009: Kerala faces major crisis in the health sector as KGMCTA and government take up their own ways to deal the strike. Protesting against issuing of show cause notice to KGMCTA state president Dr. Varghese Thomas and transfer of two medical teachers, association would boycott OP department today.
The doctors would boycott OP till evening in Thiruvananthapuram medical college while they would boycott for two hours in other medical colleges. This would cause difficulty for the common people who depend on Out Patient section in hospitals.
According to KGMCTA, the transfer of two teachers from Thiruvananthapuram medical college to Alappuzha had been an act of retribution. The government has issued show cause notice to Dr.
Varghese Thomas alleging that he had violated code of conduct during his speech. The association had plans to move against the government proceedings legally.
