Docs stir withdrawn; talks later, says PK Sreemathi

KGMCTA withdraw doctor’s stir temporarily

Kochi, Thursday, September 17, 2009: In a breakthrough, the executive meeting of KGMCTA convened in Kochi had decided to withdraw doctor’s non-cooperation strike provisionally.

The representatives of the association would hold meetings with Health Minister and Health department Secretary tomorrow in Thiruvananthapuram. The meeting would discuss the revised pay put forward by government.

The association president had yesterday informed the government that if they cannot change the irregularity in the salary, the government should allow them to have private practice. Health Minister PK Sreemathi had insisted that talks with medical teachers would be held only if they abandon strike and talks and strike wouldn’t go hand in hand.
