Rajkot, Monday, August 09, 2010: Eight persons were killed after a two-storey building collapsed at Prabash Patan town in Junagadh district this morning.

The building collapsed at 0430 hours and nine persons, who were sleeping inside the building, were buried under the debris, Junagadh Superintendent of Police Dipankar Trivedi said.

Eight bodies have been taken out, Trivedi said, adding work is still on to rescue a woman who is trapped under the debris.

The deceased have been identified as Chandrikaben Devu (60), Dipa Kishanchand (26), Jasbir Kishanchand (28), Kanchan Sajanlal (17), Dipa Sajanlal (19), Sajan Devumal (55), Dinesh Kishanchand (32) and Veshali Sajan (16).
